First time in the jungle?
Living by the riverside, we’re deeply connected to the natural surroundings. While we maintain the highest cleaning standards, you might occasionally share your space with a curious insect, furry caterpillar, frog, snake, or even a mouse. Please consider this before booking and ensure you’re comfortable with the possibility of these friendly encounters. If you’re seeking a true immersion in nature, this is the place for you! We recommend to always switch on the lights when moving around the house or visiting the bathroom at night
Fun fact: Did you know a spider can weave a new web in less than an hour? Despite our best efforts to keep the house pristine, you may still come across a few spiders, bugs, or mosquitoes – natural part of the environment. If this makes you uneasy, you may prefer a different type of accommodation
Hideout bistro
Craving something delicious without the hassle of cooking or heading out? Hideout Bistro has you covered! We offer a unique kitchen concept with freshly prepared meals delivered directly to your Hideout. Enjoy breakfast (included in your stay), lunch, and dinner in the privacy of your space, surrounded by nature.
Please note, Hideout Bistro is exclusively for our guests and not open to walk-ins. We don’t offer restaurant seating yet (besides two comfortable gazebos by the river), but every meal is thoughtfully served to you in your Hideout. A menu will be available in your house, and we’re happy to send it to you upon request before your arrival. The Bistro is open from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Along with our delicious meals, we also offer cold Bintang and wines from the local Sababay winery
Location
Please note, we are located over 90 minutes from Ubud and around 2 hours from Denpasar and the international airport. The closest city is Amlapura, a 30-minute drive away. Here, you won’t find the usual nightlife—no bars, clubs, or coffee shops with imported goods. We’ve chosen this serene location to offer a true escape, surrounded by rice fields and the peaceful sound of a running river.
While we embrace the tranquility, there’s still plenty to explore nearby. Hideout is within walking distance of a resort where you can enjoy a lovely dinner with an unforgettable view of Mount Agung. You’ll also find traditional warungs and small local shops easily accessible.
For adventure seekers, the area offers endless possibilities. You can trek through rice fields, visit the stunning Jagasatru Waterfall, explore Tirta Gangga or Ujung Temple, snorkel or dive, visit the local night market, experience Balinese shamanic rituals, or discover sacred temples like Pura Besakih. You can even enjoy a thrilling day of white-water rafting! There’s so much to experience, whether by foot or bike, ensuring your stay is both peaceful and exciting
How can we help with your transport and arrival/departure?
Check-in is 3pm – 7pm, please avoid check-in later than 8pm since it is very problematic, and in some cases not possible! Check-out by 11am
If you would welcome transport services, we are happy to share contacts for our recommended driver once you have a confirmed reservation. Our recommended drivers can pick you up anywhere from the island, arrange day trips and guide you at some locations as well. If you know that you will have a late flight – and thus a late night arrival, we strongly recommend to use our verified drivers that offer fair price and safe arrival and check-in at Hideouts.
